Joy is a certified Reiki Master Practitioner and Yoga Instructor who is dedicated to mind, body and spiritual wellness in life. She is known for her intention-based Reiki healing and compassion-based, nurturing teaching style of Hatha Yoga.
Her Usui Reiki training began in 1999. Since then, she has taken on middle schoolers as an 8th grade English teacher, had three sons, and transitioned into a stay-at-home mom. Her passion to learn more about Reiki Energy and the Chakra System has grown over time with a renewed dedication to Holistic Healing modalities. This holistic approach looks at the whole person - mind, body, thoughts, emotions and spirit - as one. That which affects one aspect, affects all.
After staying home with her sons for several years, Joy realized she needed more balance in her life. She needed to tend to her own well-being and find the joy in her day to day journey through life. Turning back to Reiki and becoming a certified Yoga Instructor helped her find clarity, peace and a feeling of overall wellness.

Rei (higher power or Universal) / Ki (life force energy) / Reiki = Universal Life Force Energy
Our bodies are made up of seven main energy centers called CHAKRAS. These chakras span from the base of our spine, to the crown of our head. Within the body, each chakra corresponds to major nerve bundles, glands and organs, as well as physical, emotional and spiritual states of being. Keeping this system open, energized, balanced and healthy is an essential piece of one’s overall well being and happiness.Carving out time for a Reiki treatment and giving attention to your energetic body will help you attain clarity and also let go of tension, anxiety, fear and other negative feelings.
Life is full of transition. Ups and downs can take a toll on the way in which you process life. Allow yourself the time to find joy, peace and healing with the gift of Reiki with Joy.
